This course is designed to provide a general overview of how to read a self-funded health plan quote, analyze and compare the quote, and then determine which plan to recommend to an agent’s client.
Course description: The instructor will first provide a very brief overview of how self-funded plans work. Following the overview, the instructor will show how to structure a Comprehensive Market Analysis (CMA), comparing various quotes from the market. Then, using sample quotes from various carriers, the instructor will guide each student through filling out the CMA. Through this process the students will learn how to read the quotes from different plans and where to find the key information needed to fill out the CMA. Lastly, the instructor will show the students how to analyze the CMA and provide a recommendation to their client.
